The National Association of Cannabis Businesses (NACB), the cannabis industry's first self-regulatory organization (SRO) which vets its members to be trustworthy, ethical, and compliant, has officially released their National Standards focused on Advertising. These standards are designed to protect consumers and demonstrate to regulators, financial institutions and the public that NACB members operate at the highest levels of ethics and responsibility. Cannabis advertising serves as the public face of the industry, and is thus essential to establishing a trustworthy, professional, and ethical business space.
As part of its mission to assemble a community of top advisors and businesses in cannabis, on July 10, 2018 the NACB conducted its second Symposium, focusing on issues relating to tax and accounting in the cannabis industry.
NACB Members and Blue Ribbon Affiliates received exclusive access to this event, which was hosted by the acclaimed advisory firm CohnReznick and featured speakers from other premier firms and top-ranked boutiques, including Jones Day, FTI Consulting, Harris Bricken and BLY CPA.
You can download the NACB Legal Symposium Handbook below, along with PDFs of each presentation from the event.
A few months ago, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued warning letters to manufacturers of e-cigarettes for overtly marketing their products to children. All licensed cannabis business owners should heed the warning - today.
Let me explain.
